Natalie P. Barros, Esq.
WBASNY Delegate
Natalie Barros, Esq. is an accomplished legal professional with over 15 years of experience in criminal law. She currently serves as the Supervising Court Attorney to the Honorable Biju Koshy, Supervising Judge of Richmond County Criminal Court. In her leadership role, Natalie supports Judge Koshy in managing court operations. She also drafts judicial decisions, supervises court attorneys, and acts as a liaison between the court and stakeholders in the Alternatives to Incarceration (ATI) Problem-Solving Courts. She previously held multiple key roles within the court system, including Supervising Court Attorney to the Hon. Ann Thompson and as Court Attorney to the Hon. David Frey, where she provided editorial contributions to Judge Frey’s “Rosenblatt’s Complete Search Warrant, Annotated” manual.
Prior to joining the NYS Unified Court System, Natalie served in the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office, most recently as Deputy Bureau Chief of the Criminal Court Bureau. There, she provided guidance to and mentored junior prosecutors on ethical responsibilities and supervised them during hearings and trials. She also served as a liaison between the Bureau and other criminal justice partners. As an Assistant District Attorney in both the Trial and Criminal Court Bureaus, Natalie prosecuted hundreds of cases ranging from misdemeanors to violent felonies. She conducted numerous hearings and jury trials, including two first-degree murder trials resulting in life sentences. She also led narcotics investigations and promoted community education through outreach initiatives in local schools.
Natalie received her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from New York Law School in 2009. She is a member of the Richmond County Bar Association and the Richmond County Red Mass Committee. She is a volunteer with Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, fostering cats and dogs. Natalie is a devoted wife and mother of two boys.
Dawn Reid-Green, Esq.
Dawn Reid-Green is a native New Yorker who attended the renowned Bronx High School of Science. She is a 1989 graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Law. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University at Buffalo.
Ms. Reid-Green is employed at the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearing, Special Education Division, presiding over special education litigation in New York City. Ms. Reid-Green’s prior employment including working as a litigator in the public sector for over 33 years. She specialized in personal injury defense and litigation, and held the position of Borough Chief-Kings County at the New York City Transit Authority.
Ms. Reid-Green is the current President of Soroptimist International-Staten Island Chapter an international organization that promotes the education of women and girls. During her tenure as President she has worked tirelessly to develop the Dream It, Be It Mentoring Program which mentors high school girls. In addition, Soroptimist works to acknowledge and highlight the accomplishments of women in the community that have worked to for the betterment of women and children in the community.
Ms. Reid-Green is a Past President of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY), a statewide bar association of over 3,500 members. Prior to holding the office of President, she served as President-Elect, Vice President, WBASNY Treasurer, Co-Chair-2016 Voter Registration Drive Committee and Co-Chair-2017 Convention Committee. Ms. Reid-Green held the position of President of the Staten Island Women’s Bar Association (SIWBA), a chapter of WBASNY from 2013-2015 and continues to serve as a member of the SIWBA Advisory Council.
Ms. Reid-Green served as a Board Member of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association (MBBA) from 2015-2021, and served as the MBBA delegate to the Kings County Democratic Judicial Screening Committee (2020-2021). She is a member of the Columbian Lawyers Association-Brooklyn, NYS Trial Academy and Richmond County Bar Association. She is a past member of the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission-Second Department. She has also participated as a scoring judge for the Empire Mock Trial Competition, and a mentor for law students and high school student.
Ms. Reid-Green community engagement includes: member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.-Brooklyn Chapter Associates Group past member of the Board of the Staten Island Historical Society from 2015-2018, member of the National Council of Negro Woman-Staten Island and member of NAACP-Staten Island Branch. Ms. Reid-Green also serves as a guest lecturer at CUNY School of Law.
Ms. Reid-Green is married to Richard Green, a guitarist. They have two daughters, Naja Green Monette and Gabrielle Green, graduates of the prestigious Howard University, Washington D.C.
